People living at the Seven Dials have been without electricity for several hours today after a power cable was accidentally cut.
The cable was cut at about 9.20am and engineers have told customers they hope the power will be on again at 3pm.
UK Power Networks said: “Customers in the Compton Road area of Brighton would have seen an interruption to power at 9.20am today after an underground power cable had been damaged by a third party.
“UK Power Networks engineers have had to isolate supplies to a further group of customers around 10.45am in order to safely proceed with the essential repairs.
“We would like to reassure our customers that we are working as quickly and safely as possible to reconnect supplies.”
