Hove Park School has chosen a new head teacher to succeed Derek Trimmer.

The new head Rob Niedermaier-Reed currently runs a secondary school in Surrey.

Hove Park’s chair of governors Mike Nicholls wrote a letter saying: “The governors are delighted to announce that following the conclusion of a rigorous and intense recruitment and selection process, Mr Rob Niedermaier-Reed has been appointed as our new head teacher from September 2015.
“Mr Niedermaier-Reed is currently principal of Chessington Community College where he has established a strong and commended record of progress and drive for improvement.

“He will bring to Hove Park significant experience as a head teacher. He has been individually recognised by Ofsted as an ‘inspirational and resilient leader’.

“As governors we were particularly impressed with the clarity of his leadership style together with a vision for the future of Hove Park School that ensures every student is capable of outstanding achievement.

“Mr Niedermaier-Reed is very much looking forward to the exciting challenge of building upon Mr Trimmer’s legacy and driving Hove Park forward on to the next phase of our journey from good to outstanding and has the following short message for parents and carers.”

Mr Niedermaier-Reed said: “I am thrilled to be appointed as the next head teacher for Hove Park School.

“The school has seen superb improvements in standards over the last few years and I am relishing the opportunity to be part of even greater success.

“I am absolutely committed to doing everything to ensure that the children at our school will receive an outstanding education that fully equips them to make the most of the opportunities presented to them throughout their lives.

“I am really looking forward to meeting parents and carers as soon as possible.”

Mr Nicholls said in his letter to parents: “Mr Hindman, our acting head teacher, is already working closely with Mr Niedermaier-Reed who will be a regular visitor to Hove Park over the summer term in preparation for the start of the new school year in September.

“We look forward to welcoming Mr Niedermaier-Reed to our city.”
