Albion assistant manager Colin Calderwood told Brighton and Hove News this lunchtime that he expects Albion to use the atmosphere of the Amex to see off Bristol City tomorrow evening (Tuesday 20 October).
Calderwood said: “It’s driven by the attitude of the players and they have been very respectful of every opposition they have come up against so far.
“I don’t think the players think about the position of the teams. They think about the opportunity of winning.
“Winning home games will be a major part of our season so we need to take advantage of being at home and the atmosphere the fans have created since the start of the season.”
The former Scottish international was quick to play down his own achievements. Claderwood played in all Scotland’s group matches at Euro 96 and the 1998 World Cup in France.
Although he described them as “highlight moments”, the quietly spoken Scotsman told @bhcitynews that his experience of all four divisions of the English leagues was more valuable in getting the players through a 46-game season.
He added: “It’s about understanding the effort, the teamwork and the individual responsibilities that will get the players through.”
