Brighton and Hove faces the prospect of more storms and possible flooding tomorrow (Thursday 16 June), according to a severe weather warning from the Met Office.
And commuters to London and West Sussex also face being affected by sudden heavy downpours today too, although these are expected to miss Brighton and Hove.
Up to an inch (25mm) of rain could fall in less than an hour, the Met Office warned, with Patcham and Portslade among the areas vulnerable to flooding. Rottingdean was also recently flooded.
The official forecaster said: “Scattered heavy showers are expected to develop yet again on Thursday and will lead to slow-moving downpours.
“As on preceding days some locations will miss these downpours but please be aware of possible localised flooding and disruption to travel where they do occur.
“Lightning could be an additional hazard.
“The daily rise in temperature will again trigger slow-moving heavy showers and thunderstorms.
“Once again, 15mm to 25mm could fall within an hour in scattered locations, bringing the risk of flooding, especially if across urban areas.”
