A man has been charged with murdering 46-year-old Jill Howell at her Fiveways home in Brighton.
Sussex Police said this evening (Saturday 28 October): “On Saturday 28 October, David Browning, 51, a payroll officer, of Willow Drive, Seaford, was charged with the murder of Jillian Howell, 46, of Sandgate Road, Brighton, between Wednesday (25 October) and Thursday (26 October).
“He has further been charged with possession of a bladed article.
“Browning, who remains in police custody, will appear before Brighton magistrates on Monday morning (30 October).”
Jill Howell’s family said in tribute to her: “Jill was a kind, gentle and loving sister, aunty and friend.
“We are shocked and heartbroken by her loss.
“She touched many lives in her volunteer work with the Samaritans and was always helping others.
“She loved to travel and was a passionate Albion fan and season ticket holder.
“She lived life to the fullest and was dearly loved by her friends and family.”
