Tenants and those who lease properties from the council are being invited to a day-long event at Hove Town Hall.
Brighton and Hove City Council is organising another City Assembly with 70 residents’ associations across the city expected to attend.
Individuals are welcome too at the event which is due to take place on Saturday 21 May.
The organisers are planning six break-out groups to give tenants and leaseholders a chance to affect policy decisions.
Areas under discussion will include
residents’ experience of the new responsive repairs contract
the Brighton and Hove Standard – the local enhanced version of the Decent Homes Standard
estate improvement – to include a discussion of the best use of the Estate Development Budget (including the £500,000 devolved tenant budget)
the out-of-hours service
damp and condensation
the standards residents expect from contractors coming into their homes and
energy efficiency work.
One of the organisers, John Austin Locke, the policy, performance and community participation manager at the council, said: “It promises to be a packed day.
“All we ask is that you call 01273 290518 to say you are coming so we can plan the food.”
Good to see the Council engaging with tenants and leaseholders.
A far cry from the years of neglect under Labour, who tried to give away Council Housing in the City against the wishes of local tenants.
