It used to be home to donkey carts. Now, a terraced Brighton home is a three-floor home – and is believed to be the UK’s narrowest terraced house.
The Mail reports today how owners Iain and Rachel Boyle converted the house in Hollingbury Road after buying it for just £8,000 12 years ago.
Now, they are asking the Guinness Book of Records whether their hunch it is the country’s narrowest inhabited terraced home is right.
Iain said: “Property is so expensive to rent in Brighton, our tenants have always been thrilled to find a house with a garden they can afford instead of having to share with strangers.
“They say they don’t ever have to switch the heating on – it is so narrow, it is insulated by its neighbours.
‘It’s certainly compact, but it’s unique and it’s got lots of character.
‘I hope our sons, Joe, 14, and Charlie, 11, will both have a chance to live in it one day.”

The best fun was keeping a beautiful potted garden, sitting outside on summer evenings with a glass of wine and the Vogue Gyratory traffic whizzing past.
