Sussex Sharks 249 beat Kent Spitfires 230-9 by 19 runs

Chris Nash inspired the Sussex Sharks to their fourth consecutive Clydesdale Bank 40 victory against the Kent Spitfires at Canterbury.
Nash hit an unbeaten 124 to take Sussex to a total of 249 after being put in by the home captain Rob Key.
The opener’s second century in three days came off 119 balls and included 10 boundaries, as the visitors lost regular wickets.
Luke Wright (41) was the only other batsman to reach 20, as Nash held the Sharks’ innings together.
Azhar Mahmood took three wickets as Sussex were dismissed on the final ball of their innings, after three run outs.
In reply, Key got the hosts off to a good start with 59 and was supported by Darren Stevens (43) as the Spitfires looked on top at 152-3.
But Monty Panesar and Rana Naved took two wickets a piece as Kent were left 19 runs short at the end of their 40 overs.
The Sharks’ win means they remain top of their league with a game in hand on their nearest challengers, with the next Clydesdale Bank 40 match not until Sunday 24 July.
