An appeal has been launched to solve the mystery of a pin-stripe suited man found on Brighton beach who cannot remember who he is.
The young manwas found apparently unconscious on the beach between the Palace Pier and Brighton Marina by passers-by on the afternoon of Friday, February 12.
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital suffering badly from hypothermia. However he was not injured and has made a good physical recovery in hospital.
Police are still keeping him at the hospital while they try and find out who he is.
He speaks good English without an accent and appears to know the south of England. He has also given two names, but police believe these are a product of his imagination, although given in good faith.
He had a few personal belongings with him but nothing which has enabled him to be identified, and had no cash.
His photo and description have been circulated to police forces nationwide, and to the police national Missing Persons Bureau as well as the Missing People charity website.
The man is described as being in his late twenties to early thirties, 6′ tall, of slim build with dark straight hair. When found he was wearing smart suit style grey trousers, a ‘Next’ black shirt. pin stripe grey suit jacket and an ‘Urban Island’ woollen jacket with a hood.
Inspector Roy Apps said; “At present there is no reason to believe that this is anything other than a genuine memory loss. We are hoping that someone will see his photo and description and can tell us who he is.
