Amazing Bubble Man

Amazing Bubble Man is back, hooray! And he truly is amazing.

An Edinburgh Fringe favourite but hailing from America, he sells out at our Fringe here every year. Louis explores the dynamics of bubbles, combining comedy, artistry, audience participation and enough spellbinding bubble tricks to keep all ages mesmerised.

Bubbleologist  Louis Pearl has been impressing families with his quirky sequences for three decades, with the art, magic, science of bubbles. From square bubbles, fog-filled bubbles, giant bubbles, volcanoes, tornadoes and trampolines to people in bubbles, the Amazing Bubble Man conjures giggles and fun family froth in one happy place.

Both my five year old and his pint sized friend are both bubble nuts! This was right up their alley. With the bubblemeister combining art, magic, science and (of course) fun of bubbles, we enjoyed watching a combination of comedy and artistry involving audience participation and enough spellbinding bubble tricks to keep everyone mesmerised.

This young reviewer was very impressed and said ‘This is amazing, I love it!’ Lots of audience participation made for much laughter and enjoyment. When asked what the favourite bit was, it was agreed that ‘the bit with the green lifts’ when the bubbles were created in a darkened theatre with lasers were the best. And they were truly breath-taking; who knew it was possible to create a show of 75 minutes from soapy water!

Although a long time to sit for the show’s young audience, for the most part the viewers were transfixed and very well behaved, a testament to Bubble Man’s skill at keeping us all focussed on his glorious bubbles.

We’d definitely make this an annual trip. Anything that can keep a hyperactive small child still for over an hour is practically unheard of. In fact this is probably the best recommendation for the show!

From square, fog and helium bubbles, giant bubbles, volcanoes, tornadoes and trampolines, to people inside bubbles, Amazing Bubble Man conjured laughter and amazed gasps from all ages.  A popular section was climbing inside large adult size bubbles, smoke filled bubbles and creating flying saucers from foam. Very clever and a great showman.
