Former Fall members Brix & The Extricated to play Brighton
Brix & The Extricated

Brix & the Extricated are set to perform an energy fuelled gig at Patterns in Brighton on Sunday 27th October.

It feels as though this return to Brighton is long overdue, having previously appeared in the city at the sadly now defunkt Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar on Thursday 2nd November 2017 as part of a 15-date UK tour. The Brighton & Hove News Music Team reported on the performance and it was honestly one of the very best gigs of the year. Read our report HERE.

Brix & The Extricated formed in Manchester in 2014, and are a 5-piece outfit made up of ex-Fall members Brix Smith-Start (vocals/guitar), Steve Hanley (bass) and his brother Paul Hanley (drums), Jason Brown (guitar) along with Steve Trafford (guitar). Brix having famously been married to the unique and now sadly departed Mark E. Smith.

They have so far released a couple of stonking original material albums, the eleven track ‘Part 2’ in 2017 and the ten track ‘Breaking State’ last year. Both albums were listed in the Brighton & Hove News ‘Top 50 Albums Of The Year’ and with the thousands of platters released each year, this highlights the superior quality work that the former Mrs Smith and her chums have thus far managed to achieve.

Purchase your tickets for the forthcoming Brix & The Extricated Patterns gig from these outlets SeeTickets, Dice, Gigantic, Ents 24, and from Resident music.

You may also wish to snap up one of the 400 blue vinyl editions of their current offering ‘Breaking State’ from their merch store HERE or even grab a special CD & DVD edition of their first platter ‘Part 2’ HERE. The special edition release includes a 45 minute dvd ‘Uncaged’, which relates the fascinating story of the band’s conception.

Further information on the band can be found HERE.
