Stealing Sheep rustling around the country
Stealing Sheep are heading to Brighton

Liverpudlian group Stealing Sheep are heading around the country on their twelve date UK tour and will be bringing their experimental pop sound to Brighton, where they will be performing at CHALK Live (formerly known as The Haunt) on Saturday 7th December and the event runs from 7pm to 10pm. The venue address is 11 Pool Valley, Brighton, BN1 1NJ. Purchase your tickets HERE.

Stealing Sheep formed in 2010 and consist of Rebecca Hawley (vocals/synthesisers), Emily Lansley (vocals/keyboards/electric guitar/bass guitar) and Lucy Mercer (vocals/drum machines/percussion/acoustic drum kit). Their debut eleven song studio album ‘Into The Diamond Sun’ was released in 2012 and the lead single from this was titled ‘Shut Eye’ – watch the video HERE.

Stealing Sheep albums: ‘Into The Diamond Sun’, ‘Not Real’ and ‘Big Wows’

‘Into The Diamond Sun’ was followed by the band’s second album, ‘Not Real’ in the spring of 2015. For this album they developed a more electronic sound, featuring analogue synths and drum machines.

Their third offering ‘Big Wows’ was unleashed on Friday 19th April 2018 and is heavier, harder and weirder than Stealing Sheep’s previous work. Bold neon pop songs with rave percussion, steel-pans, dreamy segues and breathy experiments. It can be purchased/streamed from HERE.

Stealing Sheep have a broad range of influences – St Vincent, Michael Jackson, The Knife, Kraftwerk, Drake, Little Dragon – but they remain so resolutely and richly themselves. “We try new things out and we get more confident about what we like.” says Rebecca. “There’s a really good thing Grayson Perry says about developing your creative intuition. You get to a level as an artist where you know on a gut level what you like and what you don’t like. It takes a long time to feel comfortable in that place, to know your palette, to know you like these drum sounds or whatever it is.”

So let’s ‘Show Love’ and visit the band’s official (dazzling) website: stealingsheep.net
