YAK to make welcome return to Brighton
YAK are heading back to Brighton

It’s amazing how sometimes time just flies by! Surely it can’t be a whole year since YAK played in Brighton at The Haunt on Friday 2nd November 2018 with support from Sons of Raphael. Many things can happen in a year! For instance The Haunt can be impressively jazzed up and become CHALK!

This time around however, YAK will be returning to Brighton, courtesy of Neat Neat Neat promoters, as the opening concert of their 8-date UK tour, and will be appearing at Patterns on Wednesday 6th November. There will be two support bands for this event, namely The Roves and Demonstrations.

The Roves

I’m sure the announcement of the November tour was eagerly greeted by those that were lucky enough to have caught them performing live at the Paganini Ballroom in Brighton back in May as part of The Great Escape. It was quite a stormer by all accounts. YAK concerts can quite often be a tad lively, check out this ‘All Points East Festival’ footage to see what I mean – click HERE.

London based YAK consists of Oliver Burslem, Vincent E Davies and Elliot Rawson and they will be dropping their brand new 4-track EP on 1st November via Third Man Records. It’s titled ‘Atlas Complex’ and was recorded in Nashville and London. The three other tracks on the release are ‘Am I A Good Man’ (which was premiered this week on the Steve Lamacq show on BBC Radio 6 Music) ‘There’s A Turtle In My Soup’ and ‘They Come, They Go’. You can discover the release HERE. The EP follows on from their 11-track ‘Pursuit Of Momentary Happiness’ album which saw the light of day in February.

As mentioned earlier, support on the new gig will come from Demonstrations and The Roves. We caught the London/Brighton based trio Demonstrations in concert up at The Hope & Ruin a couple of weeks ago, when they were sharing the bill with SuperGlu – read our review HERE.
