A man was found dead on Brighton beach close to the i360 earlier this afternoon (Monday 29 August).
A post-mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of his death.
Sussex Police said: “A call came in just before 2pm.
“Police and paramedics responded to a report by a member of the public of an unresponsive male on the beach.
“Despite efforts to revive him, the male was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and it is not believed that the male had been in the water.
“The coroner has been informed.”
