Brighton court hears rape claim

A man is due to appear before Brighton magistrates today charged with rape, kidnap and assault.

Steven Wilson, 35, of Colls Road, Peckham, London, faces two counts of raping a girl under 16 and two other counts of rape.

Wilson, also known as “Dollar”, also faces two counts of kidnap, two of assault causing actual bodily harm (ABH) and one of indecent assault.

He is currently being held on remand after appearing before Brighton magistrates on Tuesday 23 February.

The court remanded him in custody to await trial on nine other domestic violence related charges.

They included robbery, kidnap, blackmail, four counts of assault and witness intimidation in relation to a domestic abuse case in Brighton and London.

He is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Friday 14 May to answer the charges before Brighton magistrates in February.
