Southern Trains will be running Gatwick Express trains between Brighton and London through the night to carry the huge influx of passengers expected tonight.

Southern trains will be running hourly between Gatwick and Brighton, and Gatwick Express trains half-hourly between Gatwick and Victoria.

Chris Burchell, Southern’s managing director, said: “We have been working closely with the airport to ensure there is a regular service for all passengers needing to get home when they arrive at the airport.

“People who have parked their car at Gatwick Airport and managed to return to the UK via alternative travel arrangements will also require a regular service to and from the airport.”

The train company is also putting provisions in place for those passengers who have been unable to travel on the days they planned since the flight disruption started.

Until Wednesday, April 28 April, all tickets which were originally valid for travel to or from Gatwick Airport from Thursday, April 15 April onwards will be accepted for travel on Southern and Gatwick Express where passengers have experienced flight delays.
