A man’s ear lobe was maimed in a fight near The Level in Brighton last night.
The 20-year-old was one of four people involved in the fight, Sussex Police detectives believe.
They arrested a boy of 17 on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) shortly after the incident in Rose Hill, Brighton.
Detective Constable Ariana Brotherhood said: “This was a nasty attack on a young man which has left him with a maimed ear lobe.”
Officers were called about the fight shortly after 8.30pm and circulated a description of the boy believed to have attacked the 20-year-old.
She added: “We are pleased that the suspect was quickly arrested.”
The local boy was in custody being questioned this afternoon.
