Knifeman robs Hove bookies

An armed robber held up a Hove bookmakers this afternoon.
The 6ft tall man threatened a member of staff with a knife at Ladbrokes in Portland Road, Hove, at 3pm.
He escaped with a sum of money.
Sussex Police said that he was wearing a black leather jacket and described him as white, with a slim build, in his 40s to 50s with stubble or a beard.
Detective Inspector Lee Horner said: “We believe the offender made off on foot in an easterly direction along Portland Road and into Rutland Road, north of the junction with Portland Road.
“We would like to hear from anyone who thinks they may have seen the man as he made his escape.”
Detectives are not currently linking this robbery with other recent robberies in the area.
