A 12-year-old schoolboy from Portslade was knocked over on his way to school this morning and left with a broken elbow.
The boy, believed to be a pupil at Portslade Community College, was walking along the pavement in the Old Village when he was hit.
He was clipped by the wing mirror of a silver Mercedes in High Street, Portslade, at about 9am.
The boy was treated for his injuries at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Sussex Police appealed for the Mercedes car driver to come forward.
There is a possibility that he or she may not have realised that his or her car clipped the boy.
Police said that any witnesses or the driver of the Mercedes should call 0845 6070999.
