A Hanover betting shop was raided by armed robbers who threatened staff with a gun last night.
The two mens entered Ladbrokes in Islingword Road at about 8pm.
Staff handed over about £170 in cash.
There was also one customer in the shop at the time. All were left uninjured.
Acting Detective Inspector Steven Warner said: “We have good descriptions of these two men and someone must have seen them acting suspiciously in the area shortly before the incident or have seen them as they were making their escape.”
The first man is described as white, aged in his 30s, 5ft 6in tall, with a local accent. He was wearing a black hoody top which was zipped to cover his mouth and the hood was pull up. He was also wearing a black hat.
The second man is also described as white, aged in his mid 20s, 5ft 9in to 5ft 11in tall and with a local accent. He was wearing a grey hoody with the hood up, light blue jeans, white trainers with a dark scarf over his face. This man was holding a black gun.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 6070999 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
