Brighton and Hove school snow day closures and travel

Many schools across Brighton and Hove remain closed today (Friday, December 3) due to snow.

The up-to-date snow closure list from Brighton and Hove City Council at 7.10am is:

Trains

Southern is operating limited half-hourly services to London, Chichester and Hastings.

Brighton to Victoria will run at 19 and 49 minutes past the hour.

Victoria to Brighton will run at 02 and 32 minutes past the hour.

Services will call at Haywards Heath, Three Bridges, Gatwick Airport, Redhill and East Croydon.

Chichester to Brighton will run at 20 and 50 minutes past the hour.

Brighton to Chichester will run at 27 and 57 minutes past the hour.

Trains will operate via Littlehampton calling at Barnham, Ford, Littlehampton, Angmering, Goring-by-Sea, Durrington-on-Sea, West Worthing, Worthing, Lancing, Shoreham by Sea, Southwick, Portslade and Hove.

Eastbourne to Brighton will run at 29 and 59 minutes past the hour.

Brighton to Eastbourne will run at 10 and 40 minutes past the hour.

Trains will call at Hampden Park, Polegate, Glynde, Lewes, Falmer, Moulescomb and London Road.

Hourly trains to Hastings are operating from Eastbourne at 40 minutes past the hour and from Hastings to Eastbourne at 44 minutes past the hour.

Buses

Brighton & Hove buses has more services operating today.

Snow chains have been fitted on many buses on snowy roads.

Grit

People are being urged to clear pathways outside their homes.
