Can you help put up Kemp Town's Christmas lights?

Volunteers are needed to help finish putting up the St James’s Street Christmas lights after the original switch-on was delayed by last week’s show.

A cherry-picker is being used to put up the lights from 5.30pm, and the road will be closed from midnight.

Helpers are being sought from 5.30pm until about 2am to help marshal pedestrians and vehicles. The organisers are also looking for someone willing to save a space for the cherry picker in a loading bay with their car from 5pm to 6pm.

Simon Burgess, who is leading the effort, said: “On the basis of our experiences over the last week anything can go wrong so feel free to call me on 07768 373176 tomorrow evening to check it is all happening.

“Many thanks and please pass this onto anyone who might be able to help, dress very warm!”
