Rubbish collections in Brighton and Hove will take almost four weeks to get back to normal after Christmas, according to the council.
They will be knocked out of kilter by Christmas Day and New Year’s Day falling on a Saturday.
And they will be further affected by bank holidays on Monday 27 December, Tuesday 28 December and Monday 3 January.
“Normal collection days will resume from the week beginning Monday 24 January,” Brighton and Hove City Council said.
More snow, the council said, could exacerbate the situation.
The recent snow had already disrupted routine collections, with refuse staff being diverted to help grit and clear roads and pavements of snow and ice.
The council added: “As always, the recycling crews will collect as much recycling as you have and any excess can be put into carrier bags.
“Please ensure your glass is separated.”
The Christmas and new year schedule is set out below until the Friday before normal collections are due to resume.
