Brighton and Hove rejects change to voting system – just

Voters in Brighton and Hove may have changed the guard at the council but they decided to stick with first past the post for parliamentary elections.
The results were in line with the national trend although the voting figures showed a much tighter contest in the city with 43,948 supporting the alternative vote (AV) and 44,146 backing the current system.
