More people vote in this year's council elections than in 2007
Turnout for this year’s Brighton and Hove City Council elections was higher in 19 out of the 21 wards compared to 2007.
According to the council, turnout for the 2011 council elections was 41 per cent – up from 38 per cent last time.
The biggest difference was in Brunswick and Adelaide where the figure was 41.8 per cent – a rise of 50 per cent from the 27.96 per cent in the last election.
The highest turnout was in Preston Park where 52.76 per cent voted – up from 44.91 per cent last time.
The two wards where turnout fell were South Portslade – with a slight drop from 40.7 per cent to 40.22 per cent – and Hove Park which fell from 50. 43 per cent to 46.87.
