Hove DJ Fatboy Slim is to visit students at City College Brighton and Hove next Monday (16 January).
Fatboy Slim – one of the stage names of Norman Cook – will be holding a ticket-only “Ask Norman” event at City College’s Pelham Street site.
He plans to tell students that they can buy a limited number of tickets for his Big Beach Bootique 5 event at the Amex Stadium in Falmer for £32 with no booking fee.
These will be available from the Art Shop at the Pelham Street site and the Tuck Shop at the City College East campus in Wilson Avenue.
The advertised price is £35 for the shows on Friday 1 June and Saturday 2 June.
Fatboy Slim said: “Everyone in Brighton knows that City College is at the heart of the local community so it’s great to connect with students there.
“And as Brighton youth are extremely savvy, I’m sure they’ll be keeping me on my toes with a few sharp questions.
Music technology student and aspiring DJ Dan Doyle – aka DJ Care3Beats – said: “Fatboy Slim’s obviously a huge name globally but he’s also a big inspiration to local DJs and musicians as he’s really helped put Brighton on the musical map.
“It’s excellent to get the chance to meet him and hopefully pick up some skills too.”
The previous Big Beach Boutiques have been held on the seafront.
Fatboy Slim is Brighton and Hove Albion fan and his record label – Skint – even sponsored the club for a while.
He will be the headline act for the first stadium show at the Albion’s new ground.
Each day will include more than seven hours of music and dancing. The full line-up for the two days has yet to be announced.
