Ipswich Town 0 Brighton & Hove Albion 3
The Albion scored an emphatic win against Ipswich this afternoon (Tuesday 1 January) with goals from Dean Hammond, Craig Mackail-Smith and Wayne Bridge.
After Saturday’s reverse at home to Watford this was a most welcome result for the Seagulls.
Hammond headed in from a corner just before the quarter hour and Mackail-Smith added to this with 10 minutes of the first half remaining, scoring off the base of the post, after linking up well with Ashley Barnes
Albion remained on top during the second half and, with just 20 minutes left, Wayne Bridge lashed the ball home from fully 30 yards.
Substitute Will Hoskins had the chance to make it a real thrashing but lifted his last-minute effort over the bar.
