Brighton and Hove Albion agree deal for Latvia international
Latvia international Vitalijs Maksimenko has agreed to join Brighton and Hove Albion, according to Sky Sports.
The 22-year-old plays for hometown club Skonto Riga anywhere on the left, although primarily in defence.
Maksimenko spent a training spell with the Seagulls late last year and impressed the Albion boss Gus Poyet, according to Sky.
He previously spent a spell on loan with CSKA Moscow.
He is said to have been tracked by a number of Premiership and Championship clubs but is expected to sign formally for the Seagulls in the next 48 hours.
The deal is subject to a medical before the move can be confirmed.
