A finalist in this year’s BBC Young Musician of the Year competition is to play a piano recital in Brighton.
Fifteen-year-old Julian Trevelyan, from St Alban’s, Hertfordshire, reached the final in the keyboard section of the competition, which was shown on BBC4 last night (Friday 9 May).
Mr Trevelyan will perform at St Nicholas Church in Dyke Road tomorrow (Sunday 11 May) at 7.30pm as part of the Brighton Fringe.
He will play pieces by Chopin, Shostakovich, Ligeti, Benjamin Britten, Cecil Coles and Frank Bridge.
The final of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition will be broadcast from the Usher Hall in Edinburgh next Sunday (18 May).
