Brighton & Hove Albion: Kuszczak and Brezovan among six released by Seagulls

Polish goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak was the biggest suprise in Albion’s non-retained list published earlier today.

Other casualties were one-time crowd pleaser “Spanish Dave” David Lopez, Andrea Orlandi, Will Hoskins, David Rodriguez and long-serving and popular Peter Brezovan.

Inigo Calderon, player of the season Matt Upson, Bruno Saltor and surprisingly, Danish goalkeeper Casper Ankergren were offered new deals.

Albion have opted to extend Kazenga LuaLua’s contract by a year.

Brezovan joined the Seagulls in 2009 and was one of the longest-serving players at the club.
