Homophobic leaflets target Brighton days before Pride

Brighton households have been targeted with hateful leaflets condemning “homosexualism”.

homophobic leaflets_blurredPolice are investigating after the homophobic cards were posted through letterboxes in the Hanover area on Thursday night.

Some people chased the man down the street when they realise what had been put through their door.

Several people reported him to the police, and others said they had simply ripped it up.

One Hanover resident, who wants to remain anonymous, said: “I heard a knock at the door, and went to see what it was and was horrified to find this leaflet. We threw it in the bin straight away.

“I just don’t understand how anyone could be so hateful as to go to the effort of printing all this out and posting it through people’s doors. And in the run-up to Pride too.”

A police spokeswoman said: “Police received reports on Wednesday, July 30 that homophobic leaflets had been delivered in the Hanover area of Brighton.

“The PCSO for the area made contact with those who had reported the leaflets and the LGBT team at Brighton police station were made aware.”

Chased him down the street? Didn’t they catch him? What did he look like?
