Has homophobic monk struck again?

Police are investigating whether a man dressed as a monk who delivered homophobic pamphlets in Leicester was the same man who leafleted Hanover in the run up to Brighton Pride.

Leicestershire Police have launched a hate crime investigation after a man dressed in a black robe pushed the leaflet headed “Homosexualism – a few points” through letterboxes in the city.

The leaflets bore a striking similarity to those delivered by hand to houses in Hanover on Wednesday 30 July.

The Brighton and Hove News understands those were also delivered by a man dressed as a monk.

The Leicester Mercury reports a Leicestershire Police spokeswoman as saying: “It has been logged as a crime and is under investigation.

“We are liaising with other forces but it is too early to link it directly to the Cambridge and Brighton incidents.”

Applicable or not, once you’re leafleting strangers, the joke may have gone too far.

Something is wrong with your image – I can’t read the leaflet as it is blurred, so I can’t judge it for myself. Have you morphed from a news site to become an authority whose word we must accept unchallenged?

They’re just trying to protect you, Paul, in case his sordid homosexualist propaganda turns you into a fruitner.

I wouldn’t have thought any reputable news site would want to reproduce stuff like this in full, any more than they would want to reproduce BNP literature.

More reporting of the contents might have been good, as in the Leicestershire Mercury piece here:

Clive you say ‘stuff like this’ – all I can ask is ‘stuff like what?’ – As it hasn’t been presented you are just taking the reporters word…

Do you let him sign cheques for you and cast your vote for you too?

    p.s.

I found what seems to be the first 3 points on the leaflet which denounced…
    – Lust (regardless of gender, sex, sexuality)
    – Sex outside of holy matrimony (regardless of gender, sex, sexuality)
    – ‘Perversions’ (regardless of gender, sex, sexuality)

From this partial info, it seems the ‘issue’ is just about him including homosexuality as a perversion (along with loads of non-gay activities). As this is just one part of one point, it seems as much ‘living in sin phobic’ etc as anything else.

But his own deranged leaflet is ENTITLED “Homosexualism – a few points”, implying that ALL the points in it apply to the gays. Although, as your introductory analysis shows, the points themselves don’t quite tally with this…. which further demonstrates that the perpetrator is a Batshit Unsane Loon who Doesn’t Even Make Sense.

Paul – by your logic as described above, you would need to see the primary source material for EVERY news story before deciding what to think about it. Not very practical.

    feline1 – yes, exactly.
