Man held after weapons haul found in police raid on Brighton flat

A 44-year-old man has been arrested after Sussex Police found scores of weapons when they raided a flat in Brighton this morning (Tuesday 16 September).

Officers catalogued more than 160 weapons including crossbows, swords and axes after entering the one-bedroom flat in Viaduct Road, Brighton, today.

The stash also included an imitation firearm, a mask and plastic weapons which would not be identified by metal detectors.

Officers were executing a warrant to search for drugs and found a quantity of cannabis during the raid.

Sergeant Ned Edwards, a police search adviser, tweeted a series of pictures after the raid.

He said: “Team have just conducted a drugs warrant. Male arrested and drugs seized but was not expecting what else we found.”
