Did arrested Brighton man steal your bag?

A Brighton man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a bag in a coffee shop in the town.

Sussex Police said that officers were keen to trace the owner of the brown leather rucksack.

It was taken from under a seat in the Caffe Nero branch Western Road, Brighton, on the corner of Preston Street atabout 5.30pm on Saturday 4 October.

A 51-year-old man from Brighton has been arrested on suspicion of theft and has been bailed until Sunday 19 October while investigations continue.

PC Donna Lonsdale said: “We are keen to trace the owner of the bag. Anyone who may have left the bag or believes it was taken from them is asked to contact us.”

The owner or anyone with information is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk.

    What a novel approach to law enforcement!

    Arrest the criminal first and then appeal to the public to provide a victim.

    Maybe if they asked for our help more then the public could help them solve more crimes.
    Crimes they obviously cant solve themselves.
