A car crash on the A27 Brighton bypass caused rush-hour tailbacks this morning (Monday 10 November).

A car spun out of control along the eastbound side of the road between Hollingbury and Falmer at about 8.15am, Sussex Police said.

No other vehicles were believed to have been involved.

The car left the road but, with the emergency services at the scene, traffic began to build up, with queues reported to have stretched back beyond the A23 London turn-off at Patcham.
