A Brighton man has been fined and given points on his licence after being caught slumped at the wheel of his car while the engine ran.
Christopher Yeates was arrested at 3.50am on Saturday 20 December after he was found in Clifton Street, Brighton.
The 45-year-old admitted that he had been drinking but refused to answer any other questions and would not allow officers to breathalyse him.
Yeates, of The Highway, Brighton, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis when he appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday 13 February.
He was given 10 points on his licence and ordered to pay a £255 fine, £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
