Western Road has been partly closed after a woman pedestrian was hit by a taxi.
The accident happened just before 4pm this afternoon. A police spokeswoman said the woman was with a nurse and complaining of arm pain.
Buses travelling westbound between Churchill Square and Palmeira Square towards Hove have been diverted via the seafront and Holland Road until further notice.

I saw this and hope the lady and the driver are recovering. It was a terrible sound and lots of people taking pictures with their mobile phones. Hope one of them called 999. Appeared as though the lady walked between two buses into the road…both of the buses a double decker and a bendy bus drove off which I thought was a bit extraordinary. Let’s hope the company make the drivers give statements as to what they saw – they would have been the best eyewitnesses.
