The wet and windy weather is forecast to drop half an inch of rain on Brighton and Hove today (Monday 18 May) and tomorrow.
And the wind speed should peak at about 30mph this lunchtime with gusts of up to 40mph predicted.
Although there will be something of a lull later this afternoon and early this evening, the blustery conditions should continue into tomorrow.
While the worst of the wind and rain are combined at lunchtime today, the rain tomorrow is expected to return at lunchtime just as the wind speeds drop below 25mph.
The conditions are not serious enough to merit a weather warning from the Met Office.
But the heavy downpour at lunchtime today and as the evening rush hour gets under way tomorrow could make driving conditions tricky with plenty of surface water on the roads.
“The conditions are not serious enough to merit a weather warning from the Met Office” – Quite.
