Brighton and Hove Albion striker O’Grady goes home on loan
Brighton and Hove Albion striker Chris O’Grady has joined his hometown club Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan deal.
Albion manager Chris Hughton said: “We haven’t been able to give Chris the amount of opportunities in the Championship that he will get at Nottingham Forest.
“He is a great professional and has been good to work with since I came here in January. On behalf of everyone at the club I would like to wish Chris well at Forest for the season ahead.”
O’Grady – whose contract with Albion runs until the end of next season – won’t be eligible for Forest when the Seagulls visit the City Ground on 9 April 2016.
The 29-year-old joined Albion from Barnsley last summer and made 23 starts for the Seagulls, and hit three goals – including a memorable strike against Arsenal at the Amex in the FA Cup.
He also spent part of last season on loan with Sheffield United.
