5 things we reflected on after Brighton & Hove Albion drew at Sheffield Wednesday

1) Albion toppled from the top spot in the Championship . The Seagulls had been league leaders since August and held off three direct challengers to their crown in the shape of playing the team in second place. The next 1st v 2nd clash could happen when Albion take on Burnley later this month.

2) The Tomer Hemed / Sam Baldock stirke partnership has only yeidled 7 league goals. The two players have only both scored in one match. Against Fulham in August.

3) Albion have never won at Hillsborough – the teams first met in the late 1950’s after the football league was de-regionalised . The Seagulls did however win the most important match between the teams so far the 1983 FA Cup Semi- Final. The Owls getting their revenge by relagating Albion back to League One in 2006.

4) Albion were without Bobby Zamora at Hillsborough for so far unreported reasons. Seagulls fans will be eager Bobby returns to the team soon. He’s homecoming, one he maintained would happened during his years away , had so far been a fantastic and nostalgic success.

5) Albion next play at home MK Dons who beat Charlton in their last game just as Preston had when they visited the Amex. The Seagulls will want to avoid another 0-0 like the Lilleywhites achieved.
