Staff from Sussex Community NHS Trust were rewarded for good performance and long service at their annual awards ceremony.

Sue Sjuve, who chairs the trust, and chief executive Paula Head handed out the awards.

The trust, based at Brighton General Hospital, looks after thousands of patients in their own homes and in local clinics.

It said: “Nearly 100 members of staff were rewarded for long service of 40, 30 or 20 years and, for the first time at this ceremony, healthcare workers were alsyy

Sue Sjuve said: “The quality of nominations this year is truly impressive and it reflects what I see as I visit colleagues around the trust.

“It makes the judges’ job very difficult of course but it’s a high point of our year because it reminds us of all the fantastic work that our dedicated staff carry out day in day out.

“All the nominees were commended to us by their colleagues or patients and every one of them should feel very proud of themselves and proud to part of the NHS.”
