Man knocked to the ground and kicked in the head in late night West Street attack
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was knocked to the ground and kicked in the head in West Street, Brighton.
The assault happened on Saturday, 28 February. The victim, a 25-year-old man was walking in West Street near the Bright Helm Weatherspoons pub when he was attacked by another man at 3.10am.
He initially fell unconscious for a short period and suffered injuries to his head and eye, resulting in bruising and swelling. He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, for treatment.
PC Vincent Lam said: “We are appealing for any witnesses that may have seen the unprovoked assault take place.”
A 24-year-old man from Brighton and a 29-year-old man from Spain was arrested on suspicion of assault. They were questioned and released on bail until 21 April.
