Albion’s Skalak starts for Czech Republic and becomes Penney pincher

Brighton and Hove Albion winger Jiri Skalak became the first current Seagulls player since Steve Penney 30 years ago to play in a major international tournament – at Euro 2016 today. 

Penney played for Northern Ireland at the 1986 Mexico World Cup. 

Skalak is due to turn out for the Czech Republic against Croatia this afternoon (Friday 17 June).
