Albion lead at half time thanks to a stunning Sam Baldock strike.
Dale Stephens sent Baldock clear as the striker side-stepped the QPR defence to fire into the top right hand corner from 20 yards.
Albion haven’t built on the lead yet.
Massimo Luongo and Idrissa Sylla both required smart saves from David Stockdale.
Glenn Murray had the best chance to put Albion further in front but headed wide from five yards out.
And Anthony Knockaert saw a free kick hit the roof of the net as the half drew to a close.
