Energy firm Eon is offering free home insulation potentially worth £1,000 for families, landlords and individuals across Brighton and Hove.
The cavity wall insulation and loft insulation deals are usually available for people on low incomes who live in their own home or in a privately rented house.
Eon offers the “affordable warmth” deals as part of its government obligations and even landlords can apply if the insulation would cut heating costs for tenants.
Eon, the company behind the Rampion offshore wind farm, said that the standard cost of insulation would be about £775 and a typical family home would save up to £285 a year on bills.
But the firm added that, for a limited time, people could apply no matter which energy supplier they used. The company didn’t give a deadline for applications.
Eon’s UK chief executive Michael Lewis said: “In recent years we’ve provided more than 1.2 million energy-saving measures to homes across Britain, giving people the support they need to become more energy-efficient and to save money on their heating bills.
“We’ve offered free insulation to people on qualifying benefits for many years as part of our government obligations and we know insulation is a crucial first step in making our homes more comfortable and cheaper to run.
“By opening the offer up to everyone, no matter who supplies their energy or what their financial circumstances are, we hope that many more people can benefit.
“But this offer won’t be available forever so we’d urge anyone who’s interested to get in touch now to avoid missing out.”
