An investigation is under way into a fire at a children’s nursery in Hove.
At the height of the blaze, eight fire engines were at the scene at Cbabiesafe in Palmeira Avenue.
Two floors and the basement of the building were damaged.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that the callout came just after 9pm last night (Saturday 30 September).
At 1am three fire engines, the aerial ladder platform, three officers and the command support unit remained at the scene.
The fire service said: “Crews were damping down and turning over to ensure the fire is completely out with no further hot spots.
“The building has been badly damaged by fire and checks will have to take place to decide whether it is safe to enter.
“Crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring homes.
“There are no reports of injuries.”
