Portslade man faces trial over jewellery heist
A Portslade man has been charged with burgling a jeweller’s shop and stealing gems worth £25,000.
Richard Sutton, 42, who calls himself Mr Beefy, appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday 9 October) to answer the charge.
Sutton, of Lincoln Road, Portslade, was remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Monday 6 November.
He is accused of breaking into Jewelwork, in Montague Street, in Worthing town centre, on Sunday (8 October).
Sutton is jointly charged with another man, Jody Keating, 43, also known as Darren Gillman, of no fixed address.
