Oops! She did it again … Brighton Pride website goes down on Britney Spears fans for a second time

The Brighton Pride website has gone down for a second time under the weight of demand for tickets to see Britney Spears.

The website went down this morning (Thursday 1 February) as it did just over a week ago when the American singer was announced as the headline act at Pride this year.

She is due to be the headline act in Preston Park on the opening night of her European tour.

Her performance will follow the annual Pride parade in Saturday 4 August.

The tour follows a residency in Las Vegas where her show, Britney: Piece of Me, has been running since December 2013.

When the tour was announced she said: “I’m so excited to be kicking off my UK tour this summer at Brighton Pride.

“I guarantee it’s going to be a night to remember and can’t wait to sing and dance with all of my LGBTQ fans.”

This is what happens when an event becomes too big and loses its routes.

I wish people would stop describing this as people trying to buy tickets to see Britney. That is not what people are buying tickets for. That are buying tickets for a really important event which is being overshadowed by one apparent star. It’s time for Brighton pride to restrict the remaining tickets to Brighton residents only to ensure that the community who is trying to come together and celebrate diversity in this great city can!
