Despite the damp and grey weather Brighton Racecourse held its now traditional late April evening opener in front of a fairly sparse crowd.
It looks like the old place has had a lick of paint over the winter.
There were seven races from 4.15pm to 7.40pm and the course races a further 21 times this flat season with a mixture of weekday afternoon and evening racing and one Sunday fixture in September.
Happy Ending ridden by Hollie Doyle wins the 7.05pm.
