Cash stolen in Brighton travel agency robbery

Cash was stolen when a man robbed a travel agency in the centre of Brighton this morning (Monday 22 October).

Sussex Police said: “Police are appealing to Brighton shoppers after a robbery in the city centre on Monday morning.

“At 11.15am a man walked into TUI travel agents in North Street, threatened staff and demanded cash.

“No one was hurt and he left with a quantity of cash.

“He had nothing to disguise himself and is described as white, about 55, 5ft 8in with short brown hair and slim.”

Detective Inspector Catherine O’Connor said: “This brazen man walked into the travel agent on a very busy street in the centre of Brighton. Did you see anything?

“Although he hadn’t covered his face, did you see a man leaving the area in a hurry at 11.20am?”

Sussex Police said: “Anyone who saw anything suspicious is asked to contact police online quoting serial 349 of 22/10.

“Alternatively, you can visit the Crimestoppers website or contact the independent charity anonymously on 0800 555111.”
